a good read along  the road.
"Lonely Planet Mexico" - for general information, history, culture, hotels
and restaurants.

Things to Bring
Passports for states other than Sonora; Visa will be required leaving
       Sonora.
Lender permission form for vehicles you have a loan on.  One vehicle per
       person is allowed.
Mexican insurance on all vehicles.
Bring information on your blood type and med history written and
        accessible.
With pets, evidence of current shots.
"Power Station"  - a great jump starter and air compressor.
Two of all electrical adapters (15 to 30, 30 to 15).
Autoformer (optional and pricey at $400),  offers good shore power
     cleanup.
Surge protector and power backup (nice when using a computer).
Extra belts and oil filters (air filters) for both coach and tow car.
Instant puncture repair in a can.
Tool kit.
Closed toe sandles - Mexico is a mine field of unexpected foot hazards.
All your necessary meds!!  Consider Cipro (knocks out giardia - check
with your doctor)  and otc meds hard to find in Mexico - coated
aspirin, Alka Seltzer Plus, etc.;  You can buy Lomotil there for mild
        tummy upset.
Large propane tank and y-cable for cook stove and Weber Baby Q.
One bottle cholorine to get you started- add to your tank water.
Extra sewer hose and  extension.
Essential map - "Guia Roji"  from Amazon or B&N before leaving; not
        easy to find in Mexico.
ABOVE ALL -  COACH IN TOP CONDITION - any doubts, replace it now.
(That said, mechanics in Mexico have a "can do" attitude and will fix just
about any problem.  The issue is parts availability.)

Don't Bring
Guns!  In ten years we've never met anyone who needed one.
Excessive amounts of food or alcohol.
Heavy clothes unless going to central highlands and then just layers.
Bad attitude and/or arrogance.

Beneficial Things We Added to Our Coach
Auto levelers.
"Steer Safe"  steering stabilizers.
Roof storage for RV and toad.
Solar Panels - not really necessary as hookups are available almost
everywhere.
"Taste Pure" water filters for hose.  We always use tank water filtered
while filling with a little chlorine added.
"Data Storm" satellite internet dish and Directway IP.  Few of you will
need this, but we do for our store.

Know
That you can get items shipped to and from US via UPS or Fed Ex.
You will over pack so try really hard not to.

Do While in Mexico
Initiate smiles and waves.  You will be amazed at the response.
Invite friends and family to visit.
Have a great time.  We know you will.

Recommended Time for This Trip - three months and you will wish
for more.

Check the fine guide books above for even more suggestions.
